Everyone is freaking out over the upcoming episode of Euphoria season three, with TV’s most toxic couple, Nate (Jacob Elordi) and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) set to tie the knot.
The third episode of the HBO show’s latest season is arriving early next week, but the gradual build-up since the beginning of the season, paired with the release of an episode teaser and first look images, already has fans at the edge of their seats.

HBO hyped audiences for the dramatic third episode of Euphoria season three by sharing an ‘invite’ to the wedding of Cassie and Nate. The notoriously dysfunctional couple look surprisingly chuffed, but Euphoria fans know any sense of pre-marital bliss won’t last long.
“If it’s Euphoria, the calm never lasts long,” one fan wrote in response to the invite on X, while others said the wedding is “is going be more toxic than their entire relationship combined”, or that series creator Sam Levinson is “speed running every red flag from the season into the ceremony”.
We get a sense of those red flags in the wedding episode teaser, which sees Cassie being walked down the aisle by her mum (played by Alanna Ubach) as a bunch of Euphoria’s core characters — including Rue (Zendaya), Jules (Hunter Schafer), Lexi (Maude Apatow) and Cal Jacobs (Eric Dane) arrive for the big day.
Something is definitely afoot at the wedding. The teaser shows glimpses of Nate throwing up in his tux (maybe he saw the price of *those* floral arrangements), and Cassie trying to disguise her tears on what is supposed to be the happiest day of her life.
Exactly what’s in store remains to be seen, but even the sight of all the characters in one place has people talking.

What’s particularly exciting about the Euphoria wedding episode is the promise of a bunch of characters reuniting for the first time this season. Season three followed the group of former classmates after a five-year time jump, so their storylines have been disparate up until Nate and Cassie’s wedding called for them all to reconnect.
The buzziest reunion? Jules and Cal, whose secret rendezvous in season one have caused simmering tensions for Nate throughout the entire series. In the trailer for the episode, Jules says to Cal, “remember me?” — and that alone sent shivers down my spine.
Also reuniting for the first time this season is former couple Maddy and Nate. Maddy reconnected with her ex-bestie Cassie earlier in the season to help her along with her controversial OnlyFans storyline, but we’ve yet to see Maddy and Nate share the screen in season three. We don’t know yet what will go down when each of these characters reunite, but given their shared and sordid history, I’d be prepared for fireworks.

This many characters in one setting is bound to wreak havoc, which is why fans are already theorising how some of the plot points from earlier in the season might culminate in the Euphoria wedding episode.
The most persistent fan theory is that Maddy, ever the agent of chaos, is plotting some kind of revenge scheme against both Nate and Cassie that will play out at their wedding. The seeds of this theory, according to fans, were planted in episode two, when Maddy reunites with Cassie while wearing the same coat given to her by Nate in earlier seasons.
That detail, coupled with the uneasy nature of Maddy and Cassie’s truce, is enough to have fans convinced that Maddy is planning to upstage or ruin the wedding in some way. “I really want Maddy to do something with Nate during the wedding,” one fan wrote on X, while another theorised Maddy is “quietly setting up her revenge” at the nuptials.
All fan theories are purely speculative at this point, but with HBO hyping audiences via a bunch of teases and the promise of reuniting long-feuding characters, we can rest assured that this wedding episode will be one for the books.
