EU, UK slap sanctions on Russian spies and hackers over cyberattacks

The EU and Britain on Monday imposed coordinated sanctions on Russian military intelligence officials and private companies over a major cyberespionage campaign targeting European infrastructure in a bid to destabilise the EU and its partners.

The European Union and Britain on Monday imposed sanctions on Russian military intelligence officers, hackers and private companies, denouncing what they described as a yearslong cyberespionage campaign to undermine governments in Europe.
