When someone is awarded a Personal Independence Payment (PIP) award from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) they will be told in writing at the time how long it will last.
PIP awards can be given for anywhere between three months to 10 years, however, the DWP has the right to review that award notice at any time. Typically though, if it’s for a fixed number of years, you will be sent this review form to complete up to a year before your current award ends.
Your original award letter may tell you the likely review date. This is an example from a DWP letter for a 10-year award, also referred to as a 'light touch' review: “We give you PIP for a set time, but we know people’s lives can change."
