ESPN’s Pat McAfee Roasts NCAA Over Michigan Sign-Stealing Investigation

The NCAA is known for taking its time in regard to investigations into illegal activities, with punishments often being handed down long after the illicit activities occurred. Indeed, some Big Ten football coaches are asking the conference to step in and expedite a potential punishment to Michigan for its alleged sign-stealing scheme.

With that in mind, many observers don’t believe the NCAA will punish Michigan in time for it to significantly matter, and apparently that group includes Pat McAfee. The ESPN personality joked on Saturday’s episode of College GameDay that he doesn’t think the NCAA will conclude anytime soon.

“I think we’re all excited to move on, but if they cheated, we know the NCAA will get ’em … by 2030 or so,” McAfee said.

NCAA investigators recently interviewed members of the Michigan coaching staff. However, if the Wolverines aren’t punished this year for their alleged actions, many fans might believe the team got away with an illicit scheme.

Michigan is currently 8-0 and in prime position to earn a third consecutive College Football Playoff berth.
