Hey, you know who we haven’t talked about a lot in 2024 NFL mock draft season? Brock Bowers.
In a lot of mock drafts, including the latest mock from our Christian D’Andrea, the Georgia tight end is projected to go No. 5 to the Los Angeles Chargers, who could use a stud tight end with the kind of athleticism that could make him a top target for Justin Herbert.
In the latest ESPN NFL mock draft, Matt Miller has Bowers outside the top-10. The Chargers, in this scenario, would grab LSU WR Malik Nabers, another intriguing idea. Bowers would then end up in New Orleans at No. 14. Here’s his take:
The Saints miss out on the quarterbacks and top wide receivers in this scenario, but they land a legitimate top-10 talent in Bowers. Built in the mold of George Kittle or Sam LaPorta, Bowers had 56 catches and six scores in 2023, and he left college with 26 career receiving touchdowns to go along with five rushing scores. The 6-foot-4 240-pounder shows great strength when asked to block, but his real value is as a middle-of-the-field receiver, where he can post up safeties and run past linebackers.
