ESPN’s College GameDay Now Has Visited All But Six Power 5 Campuses

College GameDay made history on Saturday, broadcasting live from Duke for the first time in the show’s history. With Durham now checked off the list, that leaves only six Power Five programs that have not yet hosted ESPN’s flagship college football program.

IllinoisMarylandRutgersSyracuseVirginia and California have never hosted College GameDay since the broadcast’s inception in 1993.

Of those six programs, Maryland likely has the best shot to host an episode this year, as the Terrapins are undefeated entering action on Saturday. Maryland hosts both No. 6 Penn State and No. 2 Michigan this season, so if the Terps keep winning, either of those games could be an option for GameDay.

Syracuse is also undefeated so far this year, but the Orange do not have any significant home games on their schedule remaining, as their biggest home game of the year is this weekend against Clemson.

At 3–1, Rutgers could be an option for their home game against No. 4 Ohio State, but the Scarlet Knights probably have to win every game they play before then. Virginia, Illinois and California are a combined 4–8 so far this year, likely taking them out of contention.
