ESPN Is Reportedly Trying to Poach Colin Cowherd from Fox Sports to Bolster Its Radio Network

ESPN has continued to let go out big name talents, but it doesn’t mean the Walt Disney Co. (DIS) -) network has stopped searching for new ones to bolster its roster.

ESPN is “interested in a reunion” with radio host Colin Cowherd, who is under contract with Fox until early 2025, according to a report by Front Office Sports. Some top folks at ESPN believe Cowherd could help bolster ESPN Radio, which has been struggling as of late.

Cowherd, who has been with Fox for eight years, is the host of “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” which airs on both Fox Sports Radio and FS1. He also has his own podcast network “The Volume,” which houses podcasts like “The Draymond Green Show” and “The Richard Sherman Podcast.”

He had been with ESPN for over a decade prior to the move to Fox.

More ESPN:

ESPN has let go of about 20 top on-air talents since late June, including Keyshawn Johnson and Max Kellerman, two of the hosts of the radio show “Keyshawn, JWill, and Max” that was cancelled in June.

But the network also hired Pat McAfee to a lucrative deal, and are in talks to potentially add Shannon Sharpe, who left FS1’s “Undisputed” last June.

ESPN may also be looking at undercutting FS1 especially as it surpassed ESPN in subscribers for the first time ever as per a Nielsen report from July 31.
