Michigan’s big win over rival Michigan State turned ugly on Saturday after Spartans players appeared to attack Michigan defensive backs Ja’Den McBurrows and Gemon Green in the tunnel. And it keeps getting worse by the day.
After the incident, Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker issued an apology and announced the indefinite suspensions of players Tank Brown, Khary Crump, Angelo Grose and Zion Young. Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh said that he expected criminal charges to be filed against the Michigan State players — some of whom were seen swinging helmets and kicking at the Michigan players when they were on the ground.
On Monday, ESPN released its own footage from the tunnel, which showed (from a distance) how the incident seemed to develop along with a helmet being swung by a Michigan State player. Linebacker Jacoby Windmon (wearing No. 4), who was not among the suspended players, also appeared to be heavily involved in holding Green as a helmet was swung.

Everything about the incident was terrible, and Harbaugh specifically mentioned the ESPN/ABC footage. Via freep.com:
“Right now we have an ongoing police investigation, what happened in the tunnel was egregious, sickening to watch,” Harbaugh said Monday afternoon. “The videos, the ones that are on social media right now and also the ABC tunnel cam is in a higher elevation that shows much more of what took place.
Fans also had thoughts on this latest look at the fight, especially after noticing Windmon’s involvement. There was no excuse for something like that to ever happen in college football.
This was how Twitter reacted
This is actually unbelievable. https://t.co/P6TVJET4g0

My immediate takeaways on things we didn't see from other angles:
— If Michigan St saw this video and didn't suspend Jacoby Windmon, that's a really awful look and very indicative of their priorities.
— Props to No. 41 on Michigan St for stepping in and doing the right thing. https://t.co/w8t9MsK4bq

The most sincerest of yikes at Sparty fans defending this and/or excusing this. https://t.co/9deSsyFzW4

Shoutout to whoever #41 is.
Also, Jacoby Windmon (#4) needs to go as well. https://t.co/D2TiS7IpXm

This is unbelievably disturbing. Michigan has played 600 games at the Big House, so spare me with any "tunnel issues." The OSU rivalry runs way deeper than MSU and this has never occurred. Have there been verbal spats, absolutely. But seeing what happened here, no words. #GoBlue https://t.co/P84qTUc1fc

It appears here that No. 4 Jacoby Windmon and No. 14 Khary Camp teamed up to attack Gemon Green. Camp has been suspended by MSU, Windmon — a starting OLB — has not been https://t.co/LhOejxw0n4

Unprovoked. Saw a helmet swung at least twice https://t.co/zmZRSGPgGe

every time i don’t think it can get any worse… it does https://t.co/3l8QJedzL8

A. You're swinging a helmet at guy not wearing one? That's assault.
B. Where's the MSU coaches and staff getting their guys into the locker room?
C. The little MSU staffer in the glasses who looked like he wanted to talk trash to UM players…good choice to move it along. https://t.co/qDtUhUJMOa— Greg McManus (@gregmclnk) October 31, 2022
Sure looks like No. 4 for MSU is heavily involved … per their roster, that's Jacoby Windmon. https://t.co/0NLowiOefS

Hard to exactly see but 4 needs to be included in the list of players suspended pending further review. https://t.co/8YXFRFFMCl

Jacoby Windmon was apparently too valuable to suspend. https://t.co/9fxiMAoaKq

Michigan State has a lot to answer in regards to Windmon, that’s for sure.
