ESPN analyst picks this team as best fit for free agent Jakobi Meyers

ESPN’s Matt Bowen listed the best fit teams for several free agents. Jakobi Meyers was on the list ranked as the 21st free-agent overall.

The Houston Texans are the best fit for Meyers, according to Bowen.

Meyers is coming off a productive season that saw him record 67 catches for 804 yards and six touchdowns. The Texans could use a talent like Meyers, as they ranked 25th in the NFL with 196.7 passing yards per game in 2022. Their leading receiver was a familiar face in former Patriot Brandin Cooks, who caught 57 passes for 699 yards and three touchdowns.

Meyers would be an intriguing fit for the Texans that would give them a spark in the passing game. The move could potentially hurt the Patriots, as they would be losing their top option from the last two seasons.

With that being said, there are capable bodies in the wide receiver room. Tyquan Thornton could make that leap in his second season, while DeVante Parker will look to rebound from a stellar debut season with New England.

Meyers had ample production in multiple games this season for the Patriots. The highlight of the season for the wide receiver was a seven-catch, 111-yard performance against the Detroit Lions on October 9.

Losing Meyers would be substantial for the Patriots offensively. Nevertheless, they do have options at the position that could help fill a potential void. In what has been an offseason of change, this would undoubtedly be a big one for New England.
