Escaped monkey attacks Ukrainian refugee girl, two, leaving her with 'severe' wounds

A young Ukrainian war refugee who was brutally escaped by an escaped monkey is fighting for her life in hospital.

Shocking video footage showed the child, named locally as two-year-old Paulina, being horrifically savaged by the primate which had escaped from a nearby private zoo.

The toddler was seen standing on a stepladder with other children who all fled as the monkey appeared, grabbing on to the girl’s leg.

Her parents were alerted to the danger by the desperate screams of their daughter as the monkey clawed at her face, arms and leg.

They tried to drag her away but it held on tighter before it was kicked away.

The ordeal was not over however as it again grabbed her leg and then when she was carried away by her mother continued the case.

The girl is now in intensive care after the attack in a posh neighbourhood in Moscow.

One report said: “The parents came running to the screams and with difficulty freed their daughter from the animal’s clutches.”

The monkey had escaped from a ‘pet zoo’ belonging to a millionaire in a neighbouring property in Terpigorievo, and scaled the fence.

As the parents tried to save their daughter the monkey refused to let go (social media/e2w)

It then attacked Pauline who was on a stepladder close to a garden swimming pool.

The youngster is said to have lost a large amount of blood in the attack.

The girl’s parents are friends of the owner of the house where the attack took place.

They had given the family refuge from the war started in February by Vladimir Putin.

When they finally prised their daughter away they monkey continued the attack (social media/e2w)

Police are now investigating the attack after the parents made a complaint about the ordeal.

The zoo is said to be owned by the wife of a prominent Moscow lawyer.

A criminal investigation is under way.

Earlier this week it was reported a newborn baby died when he was violently thrown off a roof by a monkey as his horrified parents looked on.

Nirdesh Upadhyay, 25, was on a roof terrace at his home in the village of Dunka in Uttar Pradesh, India with his wife and four-month-old son when they were attacked by a troop of primates.

Left surrounded by the animals , he and his family attempted to make a quick escape before a fatal mistake ended in the tragic loss.

Nidresh accidentally stumbled and dropped the boy, with a lunging monkey instantly grabbing the tot by the hand and throwing him three stories off the roof before either parent could react.
