Escape To The Chateau's Dick and Angel break silence on bullying claims and leaked rant

Dick and Angel Strawbridge have broken their silence amid claims they 'bullied' producers on Escape To The Chateau.

A leaked audio saw Angel reportedly launch a 'foul mouthed rant' at a producer. At one point in the clip, Angel says her husband Dick - with whom she shares two children Arthur and Dorothy - talked to people like "s**t," with the producer then responding to say to her: "And I don’t like that either." Her frustration appeared to grow as she fumed at the unknown person for posting something on social media that had a likeness to her husband Dick Strawbridge, as she ranted at the person.

The pair have now released a statement where they insisted there are 'two sides to every story'.

Writing a lengthy statement on Instagram, the pair shared: "Thank you for inviting us into your living rooms. You have watched our children grow up and shared our adventures. It was a Strawbridge Family decision early last year to conclude ‘Escape to the Chateau’, but we have loved every moment and, despite the many challenges, we refused to give up on our dream, and in doing so have filled the chateau with love and laughter, and, most importantly, have created the most wonderful home for our family."

The pair posted a thank you message to fans (Instagram)

They added: "We know there are lots of stories in the press right now. It’s not worth us even trying to comment or give context, because anything can be made into a good headline. We understand.

"There are two sides to every story and from the incredible support we have received, most of you know that."

Concluding their statement, they shared: "We are proud of who we are, and we feel we must do what we believe to be correct, that is in fact what kept Escape to the Chateau unique, and whilst we have indeed parted ways with Channel 4, we are hugely grateful to them and their teams for their support and creativity over the years.

"The future truly could not look more exciting and we thank you for your continued love and support. Dick & Angel Xxx."

Fans rushed to the comments to thank the pair for allowing people on their journey.

"Been a brilliant programme, thank you for inviting us all on the journey," one wrote, as a second added: "Love you all and the show is so inspiring to watch, have already seen it so many times. All the best to your family and than you for sharing."

A third added: "Will miss following your journey with the Chateau but have really loved being able to follow along good luck with your future projects," as a fourth wrote: "Absolutely love you guys and the program lots of love xx."
