Angel Strawbridge revealed some of the biggest tasks in tending to her French chateau.
Upkeep of the property is no easy task as Dick and Angel have to manage 45 rooms and a sprawling 12-acre estate. There is no doubt they knew this before purchasing but a long list of surprises still awaited them before they could call the chateau their home.
Their Channel 4 renovation series, Escape to the Chateau, follows them and their family overturning the once-ragged building into a luxury property. The series aired its final episode in December but Angel is continuing to spill some interesting secrets some die-hard fans may still be curious to know.

In a recent interview with IdealHome, Angel explained the challenges they expected ended up being a lot more challenging or difficult in the long run. She said: "Every Friday, we all have a good clean and before every wedding or event all the windows get cleaned, but that can take a couple of days."
The chateau had no electricity, plumbing or heating when the Strawbridges first arrived which was yet another daunting task to tackle. On the more mundane, everyday issues the family faces, Angel said she hates the mountain of chores that builds, specifically tending to the animals when asked what the most difficult tasks were.
She said: "Anything in the dark. Like putting the chickens and geese to bed in the winter!"
