Here are your Manchester City evening headlines on Sunday, October 9.
Erling Haaland sent Golden Boot warning by Harry Kane
Erling Haaland looks to be running away with the Premier League Golden Boot just two months into the season, although Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane doesn't see it that way.
Haaland has enjoyed a remarkable start to his Manchester City career, scoring 15 goals in his first nine Premier League outings. His second-half strike in City's 4-0 defeat of Southampton on Saturday broke another record: no player had ever reached 15 goals so quickly during their first season in the league.

City's 22-year-old striker has scored seven more league goals than anyone else this season, including Kane who is second in the goal standings with eight. Kane has won the Premier League Golden Boot award on three occasions, the most recent coming in 2020/21 when he netted 23 times in 35 matches. It already looks impossible for anyone to overtake Haaland in the scoring charts, although Tottenham and England striker Kane is not so sure.
"There is a long way to go," he said after scoring the only goal of the game in Spurs' 1-0 win at Brighton on Saturday.

Man City told one thing can stop them winning Premier League
Manchester City have been told only one thing can stop them from winning a third consecutive Premier League title, such has been the way they have started the new season.
City spent Saturday evening top of the Premier League table following their 4-0 defeat of Southampton, two points ahead of second-place Arsenal who play Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
Many are touting the current version of Pep Guardiola's City as the best one yet, largely because of the incredible form of striker Haaland. The 22-year-old has now scored 15 goals in his first nine Premier League appearances, the quickest any player has reached that total.
Speaking on Sky Sports, former Liverpool midfielder Graeme Souness claimed that while they are currently City's closest challengers, Arsenal would only be able to pip City to the title if The Blues suffer an injury crisis.
