Erling Haaland took just 11 minutes to open his Manchester City account in Saturday's friendly against Bayern Munich in Wisconsin.
Playing against his former Bundesliga rivals, the ex-Borussia Dortmund man converted from close range following fine play from Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish, who played a low cross across the six-yard boss for Haaland to slide in and open the scoring.
However, the match - which had initially been delayed due to an electrical storm in the area which forced fans to flee for cover - was then almost immediately suspended as the inclement weather continued around Lambeau Field, home of NFL's Green Bay Packers.
Players were off the field for over half an hour before they returned, when it was decided that they would play two 40-minute halves with a five-minute half-time break.
Before both sides emerged onto the pitch for their warm-up an announcement was made urging fans to take shelter on the concourse.
A message on the big screen read: "The National Weather Service has indicated a lightning storm is present in the area.
"For your personal safety we ask that all fans seated in the stadium bowl move to the shelter of the concourses in an orderly manner. Thank you for your co-operation."
The match was delayed by 10 minutes before getting under way, with Haaland quickly finding the net.
The Norwegian was making his first appearance in a City shirt having been left out of the friendly against Club America on Wednesday, with new boss Pep Guardiola saying he was happy to proceed with caution over the summer signing.
Haaland had only trained twice prior to the Club America game, and Guardiola is seeking to manage his fitness ahead of next weekend's Community Shield against Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.
In moving to the Etihad Stadium Haaland is following in the footsteps of his father Alf Inge, a former City player, and upon completing the move last month he said: "I have always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons. You can’t help but admire their style of play, it’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me.
“There are so many world-class players in this squad and Pep is one of the greatest managers of all-time, so I believe I am in the right place to fulfil my ambitions.
“I want to score goals, win trophies and improve as a footballer and I am confident I can do that here. This is a great move for me and I can’t wait to get started in pre-season.”
