Erling Haaland heaps praise on Man City ‘monster’ after dramatic derby win

Manchester City secured a dramatic derby victory over Manchester United after goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma made a crucial stoppage-time save to deny Bryan Mbeumo.
Erling Haaland praised Donnarumma as “a monster” following his 95th-minute heroics, which preserved a hard-fought win for City.
City played for over an hour with ten men after Phil Foden was shown a controversial red card in the 23rd minute following an incident with United captain Bruno Fernandes.
Haaland scored the winning goal in the 60th minute, taking his tally to nine Premier League Manchester derby goals and surpassing the records held by Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney.
The decisive strike was allowed to stand after a lengthy VAR check despite Enzo Fernandez being in an offside position, a decision refereeing body Pro Ref later conceded was an “error of judgement”.
