Erling Haaland gears up for Rangers return as Dortmund star ramps up training ahead of Europa League second leg

Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland took full part in training on Monday as he looks to return for the trip to Ibrox this week.

The Norwegian striker is one of Europe's most prolific players and is expected to move for big money in the summer, with Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid all interested.

Haaland has had problems with injury this season though, and sat out the first leg of the Europa League play-off tie with Rangers.

Gio van Bronckhorst's side took control of the tie with a 4-2 win and are favourites to progress in front of 50,000 on Thursday night.

Haaland had returned to partial training ahead of that fixture but wasn't deemed ready to face either Rangers or Borussia Monchengladbach on Sunday.

However, Ruhr24 and RevierSport both report that he took part in a full session on Monday - a potential indication he'll be travelling with the squad to Glasgow.

Marco Rose's first team were given the day off after spanking Gladbach 6-0 on Sunday but Haaland was put through his paces alongside the reserve team.

That could well be an indication that Dortmund are working as hard as possible to get him up to speed for the trip to Ibrox.

The Bundesliga giants were favourites to win the Europa League before the first leg, and have publicly declared their aim to go all the way and lift the trophy.

That means they're expected to name their strongest possible XI in the return and Rose will be desperate to have Haaland available.

The striker has hit 23 goals in just 20 games so far this season, as well as providing five assists, but has been out for a month with an adductor issue.
