Kyle Walker-Peters has stated that it is too early to compare Erling Haaland to his former Tottenham teammate Harry Kane. Scoring goals for fun for Borussia Dortmund prior to his move to Man City in the summer, Haaland has taken the Premier League by storm after netting an incredible 14 goals in his first eight league appearances.
Notching a further five goals in the Champions League, the 22-year-old has 19 goals in his first 12 games in England and his sublime form has seen him dominate the headlines in the process. Now coming up against Southampton on Saturday afternoon, Walker-Peters and Co have a huge task on their hands trying to keep the Norwegian quiet.
Having trained with Kane on a daily basis in the past and also played in the same Spurs team as him, Walker-Peters knows first-hand just how good the England captain is. Amid all the talk surrounding Haaland at present, the right-back has had his say on the pair and thrown his backing behind his former teammate.

“Come on, Harry Kane has done it for how many years in the Premier League? I think Haaland has had an absolutely unbelievable start. Some of the stats I’m seeing, it’s just ridiculous," he told talkSPORT ahead of Southampton's match at the Etihad Stadium.
“But Kane has proven it for God knows how many years now. I don’t think we can compare them just yet. Haaland is definitely hungry to prove to people he’s better than him [Kane]. And Kane will want to stay at the top. So they’ll have a good battle for top goalscorer.”
