Erling Haaland asks Arsenal ace for advice regarding summer transfer amid Edu striker search

Arsenal star Martin Odegaard has confirmed that he has spoken to Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland about his experience at Real Madrid.

The talented duo both represent Norway's national team and the latter has been heavily linked with a transfer to the Bernabeu Stadium this summer, where Odegaard played before completing a permanent move to north London last summer. Now, the 22-year-old playmaker has spoken to his compatriot about his time with Los Blancos.

Speaking about Haaland to The Daily Star, he said: "We are good friends so we talk about lots of things, like when I was there. So yeah we talked about it but it’s not anything special."

Arsenal fans had previously theorised that Haaland could join Mikel Arteta's side this summer considering they are in the market for a top-class forward but transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has since ruled the Gunners out of the running for the former Red Bull Salzburg ace. Speaking on his Here We Go podcast, Romano said: "I see some Arsenal fans asking about Erling Haaland but guys, no.

"Erling Haaland is not a realistic possibility for this summer for Arsenal. But they are exploring the market for many strikers. We know that in January they explored the possibility for Jonathan David from Lille but it was impossible in January.

"Let's see in the summer what happens. We know many, top top clubs want Jonathan David from Lille.

"Another player, Darwin Nunez. Important goal against Ajax in Champions League.

"Important striker, he has scored a lot of goals, he has this kind of mentality from Uruguay, he is a fighter and a very good player."
