Manchester City are looking to head into the World Cup break on a high as they welcome Brentford to the Etihad Stadium for their final Premier League match ahead of the enforced hiatus of club fixtures.
Pep Guardiola's side will be able to return to the top of the Premier League on Saturday afternoon with a win against the Bees. City can put the pressure on current league leaders Arsenal, ahead of their clash against Wolves later in the day.
The Blues enjoyed mid-week success with a 2-0 victory in the Carabao Cup third round against Chelsea, as they now turn their attentions back to the league for one last time before Christmas. Thomas Frank's side are currently 11th in the league and have proven they are no pushovers, with impressive results against both Manchester United and Chelsea this campaign.

Due to the injuries facing Guardiola's side at the moment, the Spaniard has a number of choices to make when picking his starting XI for tonight.
This is how City's fans want the Blues to line up this afternoon, as MEN Sport has taken a closer look at what they have voted for using our interactive widget ( see below ).
In goal, City fans want to see Ederson return between the sticks despite an impressive display form Stefan Ortega against Chelsea, as he helped his side keep a clean sheet with some spectacular saves.
At the back, supporters want Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake to form the central partnership, with John Stones and Joao Cancelo, who served his one-match ban during the Chelsea clash, to take up the full-back roles.
A midfield three of Bernardo Silva, Rodri and Kevin de Bruyne is preferred from City fans, as they will no doubt be hoping for their Belgian playmaker to replicate his goalscoring performance against Brentford the last time these two sides met back in February.
Supporters have called for both Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland to start together, with Phil Foden also joining the pair in the front-three. Whether Haaland will be fit enough to start the match is yet to be seen, but as he proved against Fulham, he doesn't need long to make an impact.
Starting line-up City fans want to see vs Brentford: Ederson; Stones, Dias, Ake, Cancelo; Rodri, Silva, De Bruyne; Alvarez, Haaland, Foden.
