Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen would be able to play in the same team, according to former Manchester United defender Wes Brown says.
The club have made an offer to the Dane, who is a free agent this summer. His successful comeback with Brentford in January, just seven months after his on-field cardiac arrest at Euro 2022, has piqued the interests of several clubs.
The Manchester Evening News understands Eriksen is one of Erik ten Hag’s top targets. However, some fans have concerns about whether the playmaker would be able to play in the same side as Fernandes.

But Brown, who is due to represent United in the revamped Masters Football tournament on July 8, insisted that the two could be fitted into the same set-up. Speaking ahead of the 360 Sports TV Masters Cup, he said: “Christian Eriksen is up there for me as one of the best midfielders.
"When he went to Brentford, he completely changed their season. All of a sudden, with Eriksen there, managers were talking about how you need to stop Eriksen getting on the ball and into the box with his quality.
"There will be a few clubs in for him, but ultimately, there won’t be a problem with Bruno Fernandes and Eriksen in the same team. You want the best players."
Brown recalled the "only time" he saw two players conflicted in a positional sense at United was when Juan Sebastian Veron was played alongside Roy Keane. “Veron was a solid player that would like to come and get the ball off the defence and start to move up the pitch, but that was Keano’s job,” he explained.
“It’s all about if they [Eriksen and Fernandes] can adjust and play differently. Ultimately, you don't know whether it's going to work until you experiment and see how the games go.”
