Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag could be preparing to take a leaf out of his predecessor Ralf Rangnick's book and drop club captain Harry Maguire.
The former Leciester City man has endured a torrid time of it for the bulk of his Red Devils career, with constant question marks over his ability at the highest level often met with error-prone displays. At the tail-end of last season, things came to a head and Rangnick made the decision to take Maguire out of the firing line for a few games.
It is now widely believed that Ten Hag is considering doing the same thing - starting with the visit of Liverpool to Old Trafford on Monday evening. Maguire has started both of United's games so far this term, both of which have resulted in humiliating defeats.
