Epstein’s cellmate claims disgraced financier made multiple suicide attempts in prison

  • Jeffrey Epstein attempted suicide more times than previously reported before his death in 2019, according to his former cellmate, Nicholas Tartaglione.
  • Tartaglione told The New York Times that he discovered Epstein preparing for suicide on two other occasions.
  • In one instance, Tartaglione said he found Epstein unresponsive in his cell on 22 July 2019, hours after the latter wrote “J'ACCUSE” on a sheet of paper.
  • The former police officer, who was convicted of leading a murder plot, began chest compressions before Epstein was given medical treatment, he told The New York Times.
  • Epstein died on 10 August, leaving behind notes that included phrases like “They investigated me for month[s] — FOUND NOTHING!!!” and “It is a treat to be able to choose one’s time to say goodbye.”
