Bestselling author Eoin Colfer has announced the upcoming release of his new middle-grade book series, “Guardians of Cedar Wood,” set to be published in 2025 by Roaring Brook Press, an imprint of Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group. This series follows the adventures of Juniper Lane, a young girl, and her helpful reindeer companion, first introduced in Colfer's 2023 holiday tale, “Juniper's Christmas.”
In “Guardians of Cedar Wood,” readers will follow Juniper as she embarks on a new journey as an apprentice to Santa, where she must confront unfriendly visitors in the mystical forest of Cedar Wood. Colfer describes the Juniper books as being filled with magic, humor, and mythological characters, while emphasizing the central theme of friendship, particularly the bond between Juniper and her reindeer partner.
Colfer, known for his popular “Artemis Fowl” series, including titles like “Artemis Fowl” and “Artemis Fowl and the Arctic Incident,” expressed his excitement for the release of “Guardians of Cedar Wood” and highlighted the underlying message of the story. He stated, “The heart of this new story reveals just how far Juniper will go to save someone she cares about, amidst the magic, fireworks, night flights, and belly laughs that define the Juniper series.”
