Eoghan McDermott confirms split from Aoife Melia in Instagram post as he breaks silence on 'devastating' 18 months

Former RTE star Eoghan McDermott has broken his silence after he split with doctor girlfriend Aoife Melia - saying he is sorry the couple “didn’t get to see their happy ending” together.

And Eoghan wished her well in her new relationship with Charlie Coyle, the son of the late Tayto founder Ray Coyle.

The Limerick native had been dating Aoife for a number of years before he quit his role in 2FM after false allegations were made about him that have since been retracted.
