Enrique Iglesias was forced to pull out of headlining a Mexican festival at the last minute after doctors' orders.
The Spanish heartthrob, 48, was set to entertain crowds at the Tecate Emblema Festival in Mexico City on Saturday, but had to disappoint his fans after a bout of pneumonia left him unable to perform.
The singer took to social media to share the unfortunate news and to offer an update on his condition.
The Taking Back My Love star wrote a statement in Spanish which when translated read: "Dear fans, much to my regret, it'll be impossible for me to appear at the show tonight in México.
"I have pneumonia and doctors have advised absolute rest and have forbidden me to get on an airplane."
He continued: "I am frankly sad to cancel this show in a country that has given me so much. I hope to recover fast and be able to be with you all in full form soon."
The news left organisers of the two-day event scrambling to find a big-name replacement just hours before crowds started filling the Hermanos Rodrguez Autodrome.
Thankfully for fans, a number of artists agreed to fill in, including Netflix ’s Elite star Danna Paola, as well as Kabah, Magneto, Caló, JNS, The Sacados and Litzy, who all are part of the 90’s Pop Tour group.
Elsewhere on the jam-packed schedule, fans got to watch on as big names such as One Republic, Melanie C and Pabllo Vittar took to the stage.
Due to Enrique's no-show, fans were also given the option to get a refund. If they preferred, they could also gain access the event on Sunday which saw more big hitters lined up, including Robbie Williams, KYGO, Black Eyed Peas and Becky G.
Enrique was hoping to use the spotlight to promote his latest album, titled Final (Vol 1). The 11th studio album for the star appears to mark the beginning of the end to his music career, with Final (Vol 2) looking to be his final album when it is released.
