Jasmine Paolini and Elina Svitolina relished their time in the sun before world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka stole the spotlight on day one of the Australian Open in Melbourne.

Sabalenka had to dig deep in the opening set before putting away daring French wildcard Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah 6-4 6-1 in front of tennis legends Rod Laver and Roger Federer on Sunday night.
