English teenager 'may be in Scotland' as police investigate mystery disappearance

Police investigating the mystery disappearance of a young English teenager believe he may have travelled to Scotland.

Concern is growing for the safety of 17-year-old Elijah who failed to turn up for a meeting with a relative on February 14.

Officers say he was last spotted leaving an address in Tuffley, Gloucester, that day but has not been seen in person since.

Gloucestershire Constabulary say he has been in ‘limited’ contact with loved ones but they are keen to speak with him themselves.

Investigators believe he has travelled around the country and may have been in the north east of Scotland in mid-March.

A statement from the force said: “Gloucestershire Constabulary is appealing for help to locate a teenage boy who has been reported missing since leaving an address in Tuffley, Gloucester.

“Concern is growing for the welfare of Elijah, 17, who has not been seen since February.

“Work has been ongoing to try and locate him, and police are now asking for help from the public with any information on Elijah’s whereabouts as there are growing concerns for his safety.

“It is believed he has travelled around the country, and was then in Scotland a few weeks ago (Mid-March).

“Elijah had left an address in Tuffley on 14 February saying he was going to stay with a family member, but did not attend there.

“Since then he has been in contact with people, but this has been limited and officers would like to speak to him to ensure his safety as he is vulnerable due to his young age.

“Elijah is described as being mixed race, 6ft 1ins tall, of a broad build and has short afro hair which is shorter on the sides and longer on top. It is not known what he is wearing.

“Police are appealing for anyone who has seen Elijah or knows of his whereabouts to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 and quote incident 473 of 14 February. If seen at the time of calling, dial 999.

“You can also give information through the Missing People charity on 116 000 or you can find out more information through the charity's website www.missingpeople.org.uk/police.”
