England welcome back Raheem Sterling against Germany in the Nations League tonight.
Marc Guehi is on the bench after recovering from an ankle injury late in the club season with Crystal Palace and not being fit for Saturday’s opening defeat to Hungary, while Sterling was an unused substitute in that game having been a doubt beforehand because of illness.
James Justin and Fikayo Tomori do not feature against the Germans in Munich. Justin was forced off at half-time of his international debut against Hungary while Tomori, like Guehi, arrived at camp with an existing injury problem after a superb season helping AC Milan win Serie A.
“James wont be ready for tomorrow but we’re hopeful he can be back for if not the next game then the one after,” Gareth Southgate said ahead of the game.

“Marc as far as we’ve assessed him should be available for tomorrow but I think [with] Fik we might give a little bit longer. He’s progressed really well, we probably could put him in the squad but given it was a hamstring injury we’re going to give that a bit longer. Raheem is absolutely fine, yes.”
Elsewhere, Phil Foden remains out, having not travelled to Germany after testing positive for Covid last week.
John Stones starts at centre-back after coming on as a substitute against Hungary, while Kieran Trippier replaces Justin. Bukayo Saka comes in and could play as the left wing-back or in a 4-2-3-1.
Kalvin Phillips comes into midfield with Mason Mount and Sterling joining Harry Kane in attack. Jack Grealish makes do with a spot on the bench.
England XI: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire, Trippier; Phillips, Rice; Saka, Mount, Sterling; Kane.
