The Three Lions established a commanding 4-0 lead in the first half, with goals from Declan Rice, Ezri Konsa, and two from Bukayo Saka.
France mounted a significant comeback in the second half, with Kylian Mbappe scoring twice and Bradley Barcola adding another, narrowing the score to 4-3.
Bukayo Saka completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot, and Jude Bellingham secured England's sixth goal after Ousmane Dembele had made it 5-4.
This victory marks England's first-ever win in a World Cup third-place playoff match.
