England were given a major injury scare in training on Tuesday, with defender Alex Greenwood limping out of a session due to an ankle problem.
Greenwood sustained the injury when going for a tackle in a small-sided game towards the end of a session. The centre-back went down in pain and was quickly surrounded by her team-mates.
The 29-year-old left the field and had her left ankle wrapped in ice on the side of the pitch, before going indoors for further assessment.
England will be hoping Greenwood is fine as they have already been hit with injuries at centre-back ahead of next month’s World Cup.
Captain Leah Williamson is out of the tournament after injuring her knee in April playing for Arsenal.
Millie Bright, who is due to captain the side in Williamson’s absence, is also out injured at the moment due to a knee problem - but she is due to be fit for the World Cup.
England are playing Portugal at Stadium:MK on Saturday in what is their final game before they fly to Australia next week.
