England star Jack Grealish growing his own veg after moving to £5.6m countryside mansion

Party-loving footballer Jack Grealish has swapped nights on the edge for days growing veg.

Buying a £5.6million countryside pad has netted the player and model lover Sasha Attwood, 26, the perfect chance to grow their own crops.

They may become a modern-day version of Tom and Barbara Good from the 70s sitcom The Good Life.

The Goods, played by Richard Briers and Felicity Kendal, escape the rat race to become totally self-sufficient.

But England fans will be hoping the £100million Manchester City striker does not give up his day job with the World Cup in Qatar next month.

Until then Jack, 27, can turn his back on boozy nights out by getting dirty working the vegetable plot and raised beds at his Cheshire mansion.

The star, who was banned from driving for nine months in 2020 for careless driving, can prove he is now a glass act by carefully cultivating plants in the greenhouse.

And he can see the fruits of his labour in the mini orchard.

If it all gets too much, Jack can relax next to the koi carp pond in the Japanese garden or try for the catch of the day in the trout-stocked lake.

Jack’s 20-acre rural retreat also has a wood-panelled gentleman’s office, floodlit tennis courts and a professionally laid-out golf hole, swimming pool, leisure suite, gym and wine store.

There is even a cottage in the grounds if the home’s seven bedrooms are not enough for friends and family. Jack is already shaking things up in the area by blocking an ancient right of way which allows sheep and cattle to cross his land.

Lawyers for the ex-Aston Villa star successfully challenged the covenant saying animals could cross “by day, by night and for all purposes.”

England boss Gareth Southgate gave Jack his Three Lions debut in August 2020.

He went on to star at last year’s delayed European Championships, when Italy beat England in the final.

Jack is not the only footballer interested in his patch of the day. Marcus Rashford has signed a plan with his local council to protect flowers and wildlife at his own countryside home.
