England's 2022 World Cup group in full as Wales beat Ukraine in play-off decider

Wales have reached their first World Cup in more than 60 years after beating Ukraine 1-0 in their play-off final showdown at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday.

A 34th-minute own-goal by outgoing West Ham United winger Andriy Yarmolenko was enough to secure Wales' passage to their first World Cup since 1958, breaking Ukrainian hearts in the process. Ukraine had set up the winner-takes-all tie after beating Scotland 3-1 in their rearranged play-off semi-final at Hampden Park on Wednesday.

Wales had beaten Austria 2-1 in their play-off semi-final back in March, meaning they had faced a lengthy wait to try and secure their place in Qatar. Their qualification for the finals means that they have been placed in Group B, joining England, Iran and the USA.

Wales were in the same group as England at Euro 2016 and were narrowly beaten 2-1 by the Three Lions, despite taking a first-half lead through Gareth Bale's free-kick. England hit back through goals from Jamie Vardy and former Manchester City striker Daniel Sturridge.

England, who will enter the tournament as overwhelming favourites to win Group B and progress to the last-16 with minimal fuss, will kick off their World Cup adventure on the opening day of the tournament, facing Iran on Monday, November 21, with a UK kick-off time of 1:00pm.

Gareth Southgate's side will face the USA four days later on Friday, November 25, kicking off at 7pm UK time. The Three Lions will conclude their Group B campaign with a mouthwatering clash against Wales on Tuesday, November 29, again kicking off at 7pm UK time.

England will be hoping to go one better than their last World Cup appearance, which saw them reach the semi-finals in Russia in 2018. They were beaten 2-1 after extra-time by Croatia.

England's World Cup group-stage fixtures in full:

England vs Iran - Monday, November 21 - 1pm

England vs USA - Friday, November 25 - 7pm

Wales vs England - Tuesday, November 29 - 7pm
