England recovers from World Cup hangover as pubs celebrate late-night sales boost

It’s not only England’s squad who will be celebrating last night’s performance as pubs across the country reaped the dividend of the dramatic overnight World Cup victory over Mexico.

Sales increased by 67% as fans found the perfect tonic for their nerves before then celebrating the team’s progress to the quarter-finals, figures from Heineken UK suggest.
