England fixtures for 2023 confirmed after World Cup including Scotland clash

The England men's national team fixtures have been confirmed for 2023, with Euro 2024 qualifiers top of the agenda after the World Cup which gets underway on November 20.

There will also be a special 150th Anniversary Heritage match against Scotland at Hampden Park on Tuesday 12 September to commemorate the first ever international football fixture which took place in 1872. This match will be a friendly played in addition to England's qualifiers.

The Three Lions will also play a match at Old Trafford for the first time in over 16 years, with a return to the stadium which became a second home for England during the rebuilding of the new Wembley Stadium between 2000 and 2007. This fixture will take place against North Macedonia, with Italy, Ukraine and Malta also having been drawn in the five team qualifying group.

They begin their campaign with a trip to Italy, with their last visit having been a tough defeat during a disappointing Nations League campaign. However, the fact that Italy won the group means that they were placed in a five team qualifying group with the Nations League finals to play next June, which England won't be a part of after their relegation.
