Hungary star Adam Szalai was taunted with chants of: "You're just a **** Andy Carroll" by England fans at Molineux tonight.
The 34-year-old pony-tailed skipper missed a chance in the first half before finding himself on the end of the taunts, but the former team-mate of Newcastle United star Joelinton simply laughed them off. The Basel striker's country went in at half-time with a 1-0 lead as England misfired in Wolverhampton.
England were actually booed off as they continued to fail to take their chances in the final third. During a stormy opening to the night the Hungarian national anthem was also the subject of boos. And there were also chants of "You racist b*****ds, you know what you are" directed towards the travelling support after events in the return fixture.
The ill-tempered mood from the 1-0 defeat in Budapest continued after England had been booed after failing to take the knee.
On the field England looked poor in the opening 45 minutes and Jarrod Bowen was hooked at half-time for Raheem Sterling.
