England fans can stay in the team's five-star luxury World Cup HQ.....for £17-a-night.
The Souq Al Wakra Hotel still has Three Lions emblems on the walls, and a new outdoor pool which was built for captain Harry Kane and the team. The lap of luxury is on offer for £17-a-night per person - compared to the usual room rate of around £123 - thanks to Qatar's 'stopover' campaign.
Fronted by former England captain David Beckham, it aims to bring more tourists to the Gulf State with cut-price overnight stays. Many five star hotels have signed up for the deal alongside four-star hotels at £12-a-night.
Aiman Merenciano, senior sales manager at the Souq Al Wakra, told how England boss Gareth Southgate left a Three Lions shirt signed by players and memorabilia which is also going on display.
The hotel has already seen a post-World Cup boost, with a big rise in bookings from Europe since the tournament ended just before Christmas. He said: "The Stopover programme is a really good deal for England fans.
"If you want to stay for a couple of nights, it is a great way to have a break if you have a long journey. You see two countries and get to visit the Middle East. I have friends who have stayed and really enjoyed it. Qatar is such a good option now."
The hotel has 101 rooms and suites, a 20-minute drive from Doha and is situated next to the beach and a traditional marketplace.
England stars posed for photos and signed autographs for staff before they left following their 2-1 quarter-final defeat to France. Aiman added: "Their attention to detail and dedication were incredible. The World Cup was a once-in-a-lifetime, amazing experience for us."
Banana Island, a luxury resort and spa off Doha, has also seen bumper bookings. They hosted French, Japanese and Belgian footballers' families during the tournament, and Spanish legend Andres Iniesta. Helaka Morahela, sales manager at Banana Island, said: "It has been so busy since the World Cup."
Launching the stopover campaign, Beckham, 47, said the people of Qatar were 'really passionate about their culture and the mix of modern and traditional creates something really special'. He added: "I saw so much during my trip... enjoying a ride on my motorbike, which was one of the highlights.”
