England will be based at The Lensbury Resort in London for this summer’s Women’s European Championship.
The Lionesses considered a number of options when choosing their base, but eventually opted for The Lensbury.
The resort, which is in south-west London, is ideally located for England’s second and third group games against Norway and Northern Ireland, which are in Brighton and Southampton respectively.
England’s opening game of the Euros on July 6 is in Manchester and Sarina Wiegman’s side will spend their build-up to that match against Austria at St George’s Park in Staffordshire.
After that, they will relocate to The Lensbury and spend the rest of the tournament at the London resort.
“We are looking forward to our stay at The Lensbury. We have received a warm welcome from the staff already and have been impressed by the facilities and accommodation,” said Wiegman.
“It is important that our tournament base is a home from home for the squad and support team, and I have no doubt we will find that here. Confirming our base is another step towards what we all hope will be a memorable summer.”
The Lensbury, which is based on the bank of the River Thames in Teddington, has often hosted the England men’s and women’s rugby teams.
It boasts elite level sporting facilities including UEFA standard pitches, a state-of-the art gym and swimming pool.
