A New Jersey-bound United Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Nevada Thursday after reporting an engine issue. United Airlines flight 1403 departed Los Angeles before landing safely at Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport around 7 am after encountering a problem with one of the aircraft’s engines, according to the Federal Aviation Administration and United Airlines.

The 176 passengers and seven crew members deplaned after the engine snafu and are awaiting another flight to their destination at Newark Liberty International Airport, an airline spokesperson told The New York Post.
“United Flight 1403 LA to NY… engine failure at 31,000 feet! Emergency landing at Las Vegas Airport. Terrifying!” one user wrote on X, alongside a picture of a passenger window of the Boeing 757.
