Energy company executives could face a ban on their bonuses if their actions cause significant harm to consumers, under new government reforms designed to strengthen regulatory powers.
Ofgem, the energy regulator, is set to undergo a "transformation" to bolster consumer protection, enabling it to enforce quicker compensation for households let down by their suppliers, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (Desnz) announced.
