People across the country have seen energy prices soar this month, with one family being told their annual bill will rise to more than £8,500.
The energy price cap, a government-enforced measure to put a limit on the amount that energy suppliers can charge customers, went up by £693 at the start of April. It has left millions of people facing spiralling bills as they struggle to cope with the cost of living crisis.
Almost 1,000 responded to a recent poll conducted by community Facebook group leedsplace. Members were asked how much they will pay for gas and electricity over the next 12 months, based on supplier emails and letters following the price rise.
