Former Taoiseach Enda Kenny is expected to make a full recovery after being diagnosed with cancer.
The 71-year-old recently had an operation and is now "on the road to a full recovery". He had tissue removed from under the arm after catching the malignancy early
"The former Taoiseach had an operation to remove cancer before Christmas," a spokesman told the Irish Independent. "Thankfully he is in robust good health besides and is well on the road to a full recovery."

The publication reported that doctors have told Mr Kenny that his condition is under control and he has an "excellent" prognosis.
Mr Kenny served as a TD from 1975 to 2020 and became leader of Fine Gael in 2002 before serving as Taoiseach between 2011 and 2017. He still works as an advisor and consultant and is chairman of an advisory council for a private equity group that invests in Ireland with Irish-American charities.
