A family run business which is set to close after nearly 90 years says it marks "the end of an era".
Sanders Menswear has been located on Nottingham Road in Eastwood since 1932 and once had shops in nearby Alfreton and Ilkeston.
Its owner has told Nottinghamshire Live the decision has been made as staff there wish to retire - but that the memories they have of running the shop and serving the local community is set to live on.
Robert Sanders, 61, confirmed the menswear business plans to close on March 31, with a big sale ongoing until then on its remaining stock.
He told Nottinghamshire Live: "In 1932, my grandfather opened the shop at 21 Nottingham Street - so just down the road from here.
"We moved to where we are now in 1964 and we also had two other premises - we had four open at one stage. One in Ilkeston, one in Alfreton, but we are obviously back down to one now.
"We are all at an age now where we were considering retirement and, because of lockdown, it's not been easy recently. It was taking about eight months to get stock in and over the course of the last two years we have been opening and closing again because of the pandemic.
"This made it very difficult for us. The opportunity presented itself for us to close and that was the decision we took - it was a group decision.
"We take our memories with us, which is very important. We decided not to try and battle and stay open and struggle, we finished still on top the way we saw it.
"We think we are closing for the right reasons. It is the end of an era, definitely. We've been inundated with people coming in and telling us that they're going to miss us, which is lovely.
"It's nice to have so many well-wishes."
The company's hire wear department is not closing, however, which provides suit hire for customers.
