Nearly 3000 more people are in work across Monklands than during this time last year.
The number of Airdrie & Shotts residents making alternative claimant counts in May was 1917 - a drop of 1298 compared with the same month in 2021.
And the 1825 claims received from the people of Coatbridge, Chryston and Bellshill was a decrease of 1447 on figures released in May of last year.
North Lanarkshire as a whole recorded 7112 alternative claimant counts in May - down 4909 on 12 months earlier.
But Universal Credit claims in the region were up on the previous month; as of June 9, 32,860 claims had been made which was an increase of 457 on statistics from May 12.
