A tearful Will Smith has explained the reason he smacked Chris Rock at the Oscars, blaming the love he has for his wife.
The 53-year-old took was offended when the comedian made a joke about his wife's hair earlier in the night.
Later in the evening after the incident, Will was named the Best Actor and used his acceptance speech to apologise.
