There were heart-warming scenes at Dublin Airport on Thursday as members of the Irish Defence Forces arrived home for Christmas.
The soldiers are from the 120th Battalion and were deployed in May to South Lebanon, where they were participating in UN and UN-supported peacekeeping missions. Footage uploaded by Dublin Airport to social media showed dozens of families reuniting in the Arrivals Hall after being apart for six months.
One soldier, Mark Clyne, reacted to the video online, saying: "Ah that’s me at the start of the video!! Best feeling coming home to family."

"The 120th Infantry Battalion have returned home having been away from their families & friends for over six months @UNPeacekeeping in South Lebanon. Best wishes to the 121st Infantry Battalion who have taken over peacekeeping duties.”
