Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi admitted it was an "emotional game" against his former club Liverpool.
Awoniyi was at Liverpool between 2015 and 2021 and had seven loan spells before joining Union Berlin in the Bundesliga last summer. After returning to the Premier League with Forest this year, Saturday was his first time playing against his former club.
He scored the only goal of the game as Forest won 1-0, and was "very happy" to get a result against his old employers. His performance also earned him a standing ovation when he was replaced by substitute Joe Worrall.

"For me, I think it’s a good game for my team," Awoniyi said on BT Sport after the match. "We had a plan to stay compact and in the end we won. I’m very happy about it.
"I was looking forward to playing Liverpool because they signed me when I was 18 and it was an emotional game for me.
"I think this team we stick together, we’re a family, the fans are always with us, we just have to keep on going."
