Emotional Allan McGregor handed Rangers swansong in Scottish Cup win over Hearts at Hampden

Allan McGregor was subbed on in the final minute of Rangers' Scottish Cup win over Hearts in the biggest hint yet that he is set to hang up his gloves.

The Light Blues veteran replaced Jon McLaughlin as he came on to a huge applause from the Ibrox faithful.

McGregor has been a fans' favourite over his two spells at the club and regularly made the impossible look possible.

The 40-year-old looked very emotional as Giovanni van Bronckhorst handed him a brief run out at Hampden.

He received a standing ovation from his Rangers team-mates on the bench and fans in the ground as he ran on.

He suffered heartbreak in Seville as Frankfurt defeated Rangers on penalties on Wednesday night in the Europa League final.

But if he is to bow out, he goes out on a high as a Scottish Cup winner with Rangers.

Ryan Jack and Scott Wright netted in extra-time to give the Light Blues a 2-0 win at the national stadium.

Speaking about the future to Premier Sports after the game, McGregor said: "I haven't thought about it. The last few months have been hectic since the last international break.

"I was just focussing on the next game. This is the last game but I haven't thought about it.

I'll speak to the club soon enough and we will take it from there.

Pressed for answer about staying on, he added: "We'll see. We will see."
