Emmerdale writers have promised a "satisfying" ending to the Meena drama as the storyline rumbles on.
Soap expert Sharon Marshall - who also works as a writer for the ITV soap - has teased there are some big things to come for the Meena Jutla storyline, as she confirmed the evil serial killer will get her day in court.
Sharon appeared on This Morning today to discuss the upcoming schedule changes for the soaps, which will see Emmerdale move to the 7.30pm slot all week and Coronation Street air at 8pm for an hour on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
She also divulged some updates about what fans can expect for the coming weeks.
Speaking on This Morning today, Sharon shared: "These scenes with Manpreet and Meena will probably leave you screaming at your screen, especially for what she does. But it is going to be one of those with a satisfying ending.
"I can tell you there's been some scenes filmed in a court - I'm allowed to say that - but is it quite what it seems."
Meena, played by Paige Sandhu, is currently in prison after being charged for a string of crimes including the murders of Ben Tucker, Andrea Tate and Leanna Cavanagh, as well as holding her sister Manpreet Sharma and many others hostage.
She has also been charged over the attempted murders of a number of residents including Victoria Sugden, who she tried to drown after the bridge collapsed during Super Soap Week last year.
Actress Rebecca Sarker - who plays Manpreet - teased there were more "tricks" in the coming weeks with Meena.
"Let's just say we're glad Meena is behind bars. She is down but not out, she has got plenty more tricks to play," she said during a chat with Lorraine today, "It's not over yet. We have just been filming some very, very exciting scenes."
For a while now, bosses have been adamant that Meena will face some sort of "judgement day", as fans remain divided over the current storyline and whether the serial killer will face her comeuppance.
"I think it's fair to say that judgement day for Meena is coming. But whether she'll get away with murder you're going to have to wait and find out," executive producer Jane Hudson teased to The Mirror and other press in January
"But yes, Meena's judgement day is coming. It won't play out quite as you expect, there will be a lasting effect on a lot of the villagers but I think within the next few months, Meena will get what's coming with her."
