Emmerdale villain Thomas King set to return to the village with new actor taking over the role

Emmerdale fans are set to ‘welcome’ back villain Thomas King with acting star James Chase promising his character has changed.

We recently reported, Thomas, son of Carl King, looked set to return to the village. When Thomas was last in the village he stalked and harassed Carl's ex Chas, after she was thought to have murdered his dad.

He also dated Belle despite their families being against the romance, leading to a plan to run away together. Eventually he changed his mind and left without her and hasn't been seen since.

Newcomer James Chase has reportedly been signed up to play the returning character replacing Mark Flanagan. Inside Soap has spoken to James about what fans can expect from the return of Thomas.

The actor said: "Tom’s trying to rebuild bridges that he burnt. There’s the possibility of being able to live in the village again without the darkness clouding him."

Some fans will be wondering if Thomas will check in on his uncle Jimmy King when he's back in the village. Asked whether the character has contacted Jimmy, new soap addition James, said: "No, not at all. He didn’t want to bring up the past and his uncle was connected to that. But now Tom’s on a new path to be there for the people he loves."
