Emmerdale bosses sparked fury from fans as they accused the soap was being ‘obsessed’ with drug storylines as well as alcohol.
During tonight’s episode of the ITV show Dawn made a shocking discovery after finding her late friend's child in a drug house with her high friend Jade.
After attending her best friend Beth’s funeral after she died from an overdose she went back to Jade’s flat. She was left gobsmacked when she found Beth’s young daughter sitting in a dog bed in the kitchen.
Dawn soon realised that the girl was in trouble. She went on to find Jade on the sofa zoned out from drugs.
Thing went from bad to worse as a dangerous man walked into the house but Dawn did everything she could to get the girl to safety.
After an intense moment Dawn managed to escape and took Beth’s daughter with her, however once they got home Billy wanted to call social services.
Dawn refused and eventually Billy agreed to letting her stay with them for one night. Elsewhere on the show Leyla's cocaine addiction was still a problem.
Her storyline has been ongoing for weeks but it may be coming to an end. However viewers were far from impressed by the ITV soap as they accused the show of being “obsessed” with drug storylines.
@sofaneilas Tweeted: “How many times has drugs been mentioned tonight? Jeez Lousie! #emmerdale.” @Surfingspaniel commented: “Does every story have to concern drink or drugs? Come on writers you can do so much better #emmerdale.”
@iPoof wrote: “Is there anyone not on drugs or alcohol in #emmerdale?” @joy9kat said: “This programme really is obsessed with drugs! Oh and drink. Any other addiction too - So boring now #Emmerdale.”
While @gffcontwitch added: “Wouldn't surprise me if that kid was hiding drugs, the writers seem to be messed up that way #Emmerdale.”
